Stir fry celery and lamb livers

This is Mr Chen's fav.  I didn't touch any of those lamb livers :-S
They are stir fried with cumin and salts.

Pan fried king prawns

Stir fry beef steak pieces and mushrooms

I bought a nice big beef steak on bone from Waitrose couple days ago.  While Mr Chen has been feeling not well, so I better not to feed him a giant steak which definitely he will eat it all but with a very high chance of feeling more sick afterwards.

Usually if given steak or fish, I will select fish.  I just won't feel particularly exciting to eat a steak.  But I need more nutrition now, so I half the steak, cut one half into square pieces, and fried them with lots of mushrooms.   And put the other half to the freezer.   A lighter way to enjoy steak!!

Stir fry chicken, tofu, french beans with chilli bean sauce

[Dine out in London] Crockford Bridge farm shop

This is a very lovely chicken and mushroom pie I had in the Crockford Bridge farm shop.  Yum!!!

[Recipe] Quick fry courgette with garlic

We went to this Crockford bridge PYO farm last week.  I hand picked one courgette from the ground.  It was my first time seeing a courgette as a "plant"  :-S

Ok, here is the way I cooked it

1) in a wok, add in a little bit of oil, add in garlic and fry them for about 1 minute
2) add in courgettes, stir fry them for a couple minutes, then lid on turn to a low med heat for another couple of minutes
3) when u notice they are cooked, add in some salt, sugar, very little soy sauce and sesame oil, done!!!

[Dine out in Lake District] Newstead Guest House

The best thing of staying in B&B is BREAKFAST!!!!!

[Dine out in Lake District] Giotto

Our last nite in Lake District, we went to an Italian restaurant called Giotto.  We ordered deep fried calamari, lasagna, seafood linguine, and a panna cotta.  The lasagna was one of the best lasagna I ever had in my life!!!   Very delicious!!!   With two drinks, the bill came to £43.

My conclusion after the holiday is, you can have good value and delicious food, when u are not in London :-S

[Dine out in Lake District] Queen's head hotel

While we were visiting Beatrice Potter's houses, we went into a little pub in Hawkshead called Queen's head hotel for lunch.  We both ordered steak sandwiches.  Somehow they may know one is for Mr Chen and one is for me, so one portion is bigger while the other portion is smaller.  Perfect!!!

Only £20, with 2 drinks and a side dish of garlic bread, what a nice and simple lunch!!!

[Dine out in Lake District] The golden mountain Chinese restaurant

Okok,  we have done it again.  Visiting a local Chinese restaurant in countryside of England.  Last time when we were in New Forest, we were SHOCKED when they served us the "Crispy Duck" which all the duck meat are chopped and diced in very very little pieces!!!  This is absolutely weird to us.    Never mind, I always want a bowl of rice as my comfort food when away from home, so we did it again and went to local Chinese restaurant, this time in Windermere, which having a very good rating in trip advisor.

To play safe, I know their food are target to western people, so we will not order any crispy duck again.  I have ordered "Beef with XO sauce", "roast pork and mushroom foo yung", "sizzling squid", "salt and pepper wings".  Their service was excellent.  The food was not bad.  And I had my comfort food - a bowl of rice.  The bill came to £37.  At the end, we had two very very lovely fortune cookies, as u can see below.  It made our day.  :-)

[Dine out in Loch Lomond] The Cruin

We were attending a very good friend's wedding in the Cruin.  The food was very nice as u can see  :-)

[Dine out in Loch Lomond] Duck bay restaurant

It was a very nice lunch indeed.  Mr Chen had the scallops and king prawns spaghetti, and I had a seafood dish.  It was fillet of haddock, over a bed of photo mash with creamy sauce.  Very delicious.  However I do not like the side vegetables, they are simply overcooked :-S

It was around £40, two drinks two teas two main courses.   Things are definitely cheaper in Scotland, when u compare it with London.

[Dine out in Loch Lomond] Brewers Fayre restaurant

Well, we chosen this place just because it is next to Premier Inn, where we were stayed while in Loch Lomonn.  Good value, pub food, u get what u paid for.   They are not super yummy but ok.   3 of us, 3 starters, 3 main courses, 2 extra side dishes, 2 teas, 1 desserts, 3 drinks, £49.    bargain!!

[Dine out in Loch Lomond] The little cafe in Balloch Castle country park

Strictly speaking, this is not a dine out.  Just a small cafe in the Balloch castle country park, oh not a cafe coz there was no any seating area, it was just a small shop selling food.  And I had my very very very yummy roll and sausage, the crusty rolls that available only in Scotland.  Mr Chen had a not very exciting hotdog but a very scottish Irn Bru.  Apparently the bees in Balloch likes the Irn Bru very much, as soon as he moved his mouth away from the can, the bees will be there!!!    Eventually we need to use an iphone to cover the can in order to get rid of the bees!!!   Iphone can do everything!!!

[Dine out in Glasgow] Seewoo Chinese Restaurant

Mr Chen, me and my brother, 3 of us, we ordered a Seafood set for 4 people.
Starts with soup, steam scallops, fried lobsters, steam fish (forgot to take photo sorry), roast pork, roast duck, and fried noodles, and 4 bowls of rice,  then we ordered an extra Tofu dish (琵琶tofu, sorry forgot to take photo again)

Such a wonderful dinner, and we even have fruits and cakes for desserts too!!!!

The bill came to £88.80.  What a bargain!!!

The best thing is, my brother not having Chinese dinner very often, particular a seafood one.  What a treat to him!!! :-)
