Stir fry celery and lamb livers
This is Mr Chen's fav. I didn't touch any of those lamb livers :-S
They are stir fried with cumin and salts.
Stir fry beef steak pieces and mushrooms
I bought a nice big beef steak on bone from Waitrose couple days ago. While Mr Chen has been feeling not well, so I better not to feed him a giant steak which definitely he will eat it all but with a very high chance of feeling more sick afterwards.
Usually if given steak or fish, I will select fish. I just won't feel particularly exciting to eat a steak. But I need more nutrition now, so I half the steak, cut one half into square pieces, and fried them with lots of mushrooms. And put the other half to the freezer. A lighter way to enjoy steak!!
[Recipe] Quick fry courgette with garlic
We went to this Crockford bridge PYO farm last week. I hand picked one courgette from the ground. It was my first time seeing a courgette as a "plant" :-S
Ok, here is the way I cooked it
1) in a wok, add in a little bit of oil, add in garlic and fry them for about 1 minute
2) add in courgettes, stir fry them for a couple minutes, then lid on turn to a low med heat for another couple of minutes
3) when u notice they are cooked, add in some salt, sugar, very little soy sauce and sesame oil, done!!!
[Dine out in Lake District] Giotto
Our last nite in Lake District, we went to an Italian restaurant called Giotto. We ordered deep fried calamari, lasagna, seafood linguine, and a panna cotta. The lasagna was one of the best lasagna I ever had in my life!!! Very delicious!!! With two drinks, the bill came to £43.
My conclusion after the holiday is, you can have good value and delicious food, when u are not in London :-S
[Dine out in Lake District] Queen's head hotel
While we were visiting Beatrice Potter's houses, we went into a little pub in Hawkshead called Queen's head hotel for lunch. We both ordered steak sandwiches. Somehow they may know one is for Mr Chen and one is for me, so one portion is bigger while the other portion is smaller. Perfect!!!
Only £20, with 2 drinks and a side dish of garlic bread, what a nice and simple lunch!!!
